 Canyon tested better than Philips, Western Digital, Seagate and Buffalo. 

The IT magazine SWPower in Slovenia tested in its September issue five 320GB hard disk drives of five different brands: Philips, Western Digital, Seagate, Buffalo and Canyon. All hard disk were thoroughly examined and well studied before the magazine came to the following conclusions:

"Canyon, bought at ASBIS, is a well positioned brand in the Slovenian market with a wide pallete of products. We were looking forward to test this external hard drive of them. Inside the Canyon cabinet you'll find a 320GB SataII Samsung spinpoint T133 hard disk, which is turning around with 7200 turns per minute and is equiped with a 8MB cache."

Referring to the eSATA of the Canyon hard disk, the magazine states:

"Speed tests have shown, that with usage of an eSATA connection, this device brings extra fast data transfers and is 65% quicker then the best device of rival products. The Canyon external hard disk is also first on rank with its 25MB/s writing speed."

About the looks of the hard disk drive SWPower says the following:

"The HDD cabinet has a piano black shiny color and is designed to place in several desired positions. The cabinet is sensitive for fingerprints and thats why the Canyon hard disk drive comes standard with a black, soft wiping cloth. For monitoring the device activity, there is a nice blue LED in the shape of the Canyon logo"

Their overall conclusion about the CN-HDD35B320 was smashing:

"This is definetly a monster among the rest of external hard drives out there and is worthy of the title »SWP RECOMMENDED!« "
